How this website handles data and how to contact us.
1. Controller and contact
The controller for this website is SmartDigitec, Herzogin-Elisabeth-Strasse 16, 38159 Vechelde, Germany, represented by Sami Touati and Hamza Touati. For privacy enquiries, contact contact@edugen.me.
2. Scope
This information applies to the new EDUGEN presentation website, its German and English pages, and enquiries. The interactive examples run in your browser; entries in these examples are not sent to an AI service or the learning platform.
Accounts, uploaded teaching material and learner data within the separate EDUGEN platform are covered by its own privacy information and the agreed terms for the relevant implementation.
3. Visiting the website
When you visit a website, your browser sends technically necessary connection data to the server delivering it. This includes the IP address, requested files, time, browser information and, where applicable, the previous page. Processing serves website delivery, security and troubleshooting. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is providing the website securely.
This website runs on a Hostinger VPS in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Hostinger participates as the technical hosting provider. The website service does not create visitor statistics or log form contents. Technical error logs rotate by size, with at most three files of up to 10 MB each. If a security incident occurs, information needed to investigate it may be retained until the investigation is complete.
We use Hostinger for hosting and email. Provider information, subprocessors and contractual safeguards for possible processing outside the European Economic Area are described at https://www.hostinger.com/legal/dpa and https://www.hostinger.com/legal/privacy-policy. The confirmed Frankfurt location refers to the VPS, not to every email or support process.
4. Browser functions, cookies and analytics
This version does not integrate analytics or marketing services. Images and fonts are delivered by the same server as the website. Its application code does not set cookies or store visitor profiles in Local Storage or Session Storage. Language and section choices are represented by the URL.
Animations and example selections use browser memory. Their state is lost on reload. If additional services are used for public operation, this information and any necessary consent controls will be updated before activation.
5. Contact and enquiry form
When you submit the enquiry form, we process your name, email address, institution, role and enquiry. Optional learner numbers and timing help us prepare the conversation. The enquiry is sent to contact@edugen.me through an encrypted Hostinger SMTP connection. Your email address is used as the reply address. No automatic confirmation email is sent to you. The website has no enquiry database; the message is made available in the recipient mailbox for handling. Please do not submit confidential teaching material or third-party personal data.
When you contact us by email, we process your email address, message and voluntary details to respond. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for contractual or pre-contractual enquiries; otherwise Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, with the legitimate interest of responding to enquiries. The respective email service providers participate in transmitting and delivering email.
Enquiry data is deleted when handling is complete and no further retention reason exists. Statutory retention duties and necessary retention for pursuing or defending claims remain applicable. Salted technical checksums in process memory protect the form against abuse. They expire within 15 minutes; expired entries are removed on the next form request and all entries are cleared on restart. Message texts are not stored in these protection keys.
6. External links
This website links to external sources. A connection to the respective website is established when you follow a link. That provider’s privacy information then applies.
7. Your rights
Subject to statutory conditions, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests for reasons relating to your particular situation. You may object to direct marketing at any time. Consent may be withdrawn for future processing.
You may complain to a data protection supervisory authority, particularly where you usually live or work, or where you believe an infringement occurred. Send privacy enquiries to contact@edugen.me.
